Hello. As announced, the book we will be reading this month is The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. I understand the majority of you have read the book, but the more you read something, the more you understand it :3 I also understand that not everyone has read or has the ability to get a physical copy of the book, or even have money to purchase the ebook. I have looked around the internet, and I have a really good pdf file of the book that you can read its entirety on your computer.
You can download the pdf here.
Happy reading! Message us if you have any questions.
Okay this is my apology! I’ve sort of been neglecting this blog due to personal reasons. It wasn’t fair to any of you and I deeply apologize for not being around. I will upload my review of last month’s movie and album shortly.
NOW FOR THIS MONTH’S BOOK.
Perks Of Being a Wallflower won by a lot of votes! So enjoy! Reviews for last month are still being accepted through messages and/or submissions!
First, sorry for the tinychat situation. This was our first time doing it, so we apologize :) Also, I was away for a few weeks, so I couldn’t communicate with Chloe on the tinychat discussion.
Angus & Julia Stone: As the one who suggest that we listen to this album, I guess you can say my opinion is biased. I absolutely love these two siblings. Their other albums are exceptionally fantastic as well; maybe even better. My favorite song on the album is Draw Your Sword. I love the simplicity of it; yet it has a subtle complexity and pain to it; and I think that is what love is: simple, yet complex, beautiful, yet painful. Also, for me, when I listen to music, I listen to the way it makes me feel for the first time, and I can’t help but feel vulnerable, with a hint of “hopeless romantic.” There lies a deep, stinging pain in my chest every time this song comes on. Well, all of their song makes me feel that way, to be honest. Also, bonus points to anyone who can analyze the lyrics and understand what Angus means in the verses :3
The Breakfast Club: Honestly, one of my favorite movies. I watched it a couple of years ago and it remains my favorite, to this day. It was one of those movies that left you with a funny feeling that you cannot describe after you first watched it. There is a lot of truth told in the movie, and although I wished there was a sequel, I am glad there isn’t because it leaves it to the imagination of the viewers. I love each character equally. <3
I feel sorry about the tinychat. I know everybody has a reason why they were not there.
Well, let’s start with the album:
I’ve never listened to angus and julia stone and damn! they’re good! The album is full of love. My favourite song was for sure Big Jet Plane. And the lyrics of Hold On really called my attention… is so lovely and touching. My favorite melody was from Santa Monica Dream. And Walk It Off is perfect for the end of a hot afternoon.
And this film is so awesome! I simply loved it! (my new facebook cover is a picture of them) Allison was my favorite character (of course) she’s so lost and confident i kind of saw myself in her. The movie is really funny and lovely. This crazy friendship is so sweet this ”wrong” club make us feel complete in a weird way hahahah.
You can make a video on your thoughts or write out a review. I will be attempting to do a tiny chat tonight. Probably around 8:00 (est).
Well it seems that no one is around. I’ll keep it up for awhile but if by 9:30 no one joins the discussion I may have to reevaluate how we do this. Maybe have people submit written reviews?
